Giulia Slater, PhD

I am a researcher in Economics and Wellbeing at STATEC Research, Luxembourg.

I obtained my PhD at the University of Siena, Italy and hold a double degree Msc in Economics from the University of Essex, UK and from the University of Konstanz, Germany.

My research focuses on wellbeing and social capital economics.  In particular, I aim at formalizing and justifying the use of such measures in economic analysis, and at exploring the interrelations between individuals' satisfaction and their values, norms, networks and preferences - in a word, their social capital.

Other research interests include economic policy, microeconometrics, post-growth economics, social economics, inequality and sociology.
