Postdoc on a PRIN-funded project at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy led by Prof. Sendy Caffarra since April 2024.
Visiting researcher with an honorary fellowship at the University of East Anglia, UK since Sept 2022.
Postdoc, University of Siena (Sept 2022- March 2024).
Marica De Vincenzi Fellowship, University of East Anglia (Sept 2021-Aug 2022).
PhD in cognitive science, with a specialisation in linguistics, at the University of Trento, Italy. February 2021.
My research focuses on clinical linguistics, particularly in the design of culturally and linguistically relevant assessment tools and practices for multilingual communities.
During my Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences at the University of Trento (IT), I developed methodological skills on the design and development of research projects involving multilingual speakers as well as neurodiverse individuals using behavioural methods (Linguistic Approaches To Bilingualism, 2023; Journal of Applied Psycholinguistics, 2025).
As a Marica De Vincenzi postdoctoral researcher at the University of East Anglia and later as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Siena, I have independently designed and conducted studies on language assessment in multilingual speakers, both adults and children (Logopedia e Comunicazione, 2025; under review, presented at GALA 2025), aiming to create opportunities for correct diagnoses and equitable access to care in multilingual speakers in clinical practice and research (Bilingualism: Language and Cognition, 2024). I have also built strong collaborations with Speech and Language therapists working in Malaysia, to investigate the challenges of the practice in multilingual contexts and provide alternative solutions (IJSLP, 2025; Aphasiology, 2024).
In my most recent position as senior research associate in a PRIN-PNRR-funded research at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, I started working on reading abilities in primary school children and have expanded my presence in non-academic spaces by conducting training on reading skills in the library and educational setting, and holding dissemination events for the general public.
Beyond research, I’ve actively pursued professional training in inclusive supervision, neurodiversity, and communication access—skills I consider essential for fostering equity in academic and clinical environments. I have contributed to projects as a consultant around co-creation in research translation, reflecting my commitment to collaborative and socially responsive science. I am a member of the Diversity, Inlcusion, and Belonging Committee of the Flux society through December 2027.
