Students registered for Geography 17 will need to manage various accounts that provide access Cabrillo computers, software and online applications. Please remember to record usernames and passwords and links to access these important services.
Cabrillo uses the Canvas learning management system to manage content required for this course. This is where students will find lectures, assignments and related learning resources as well as where they will submit assignments and access your grades. Access to Canvas is required. Canvas login and password are the same as those for WebAdvisor. See the Login Help for Students page for more information. For help, click here.
GIS software is loaded on select campus computers which require access to the Cabrillo College computer network. Students must have a Cabrillo Network student login and password. These are often (but not always) the same as the Canvas login.
ArcGIS Online is a collaborative web GIS that allows you to use, create, and share maps, scenes, apps, layers, analytics, and data. Students will use this online application to create maps and share data throughout the course. You will login using a preset username and password and will be then prompted to change your password and complete a profile. We will setup this up together on the first day of class by following these instructions.
Some of the online learning assignments will be provided through the ESRI e-training site. After you create your account for ArcGIS online, you should have access to the Esri Training site:
Go to https://www.esri.com/training, click on Main, then Unlimited E-Learning. Scroll down and you should see a box that says You Have Access - Your account is connected to a qualifying organization. (If this is not the case, please logout and close all tabs and try logging in again or use a different browser.)
