Welcome

Jackie Hellard and Penny Baziuk share a love for golf and both have a passion for helping others discover and enjoy the game. Girls on the Green began with Penny and Jackie playing The Ridge Course at Cordova Bay in the fall of 2024 with a few junior girls.  In a short period of time the group has grown to include more keen junior girls and a network of elite women amateurs and golf professionals.  Girls on the Green also now has women leaders from other industries, such as medicine, engineering, entrepreneurship, come out to play and connect with the juniors with aspirations in other areas.

With the growth of the group and through much appreciated support of the local golf clubs, Girls on the Green playing opportunities continue to evolve and expand. We continue to play The Ridge at Cordova Bay every other Saturday but are scheduled to play Victoria Golf Club, Uplands and Gorge Vale monthly, and will visit Cedar Hill, Highland Pacific, Cordova Bay and Royal Colwood and hopefully other course throughout the season.

We aim to grow the game of golf and encourage a culture of camaraderie and mentorship, where supporting one another leads to collective success. We embrace diversity and inclusivity, welcoming experienced junior girls aged 12-18 from all backgrounds.

What we do:

Presently we offer playing oppportunties every other Saturday at The Ridge.  We change the format of the games we play and structure so everyone has an opportunity to have success.

Our playing opportunities are expanding thanks fo the support of local golf courses and we will be playing numerous other courses throughout the season.

Our focus will be getting the competitive juniors games where Zone and Provincial tournaments will be contested prior to the events.

We will also have purely fun golf outings to keep the developing players and competitive players engaged and enjoying golf.

Criteria:

Junior girls between the ages of 12-18 are eligible with an established Golf Canada index of 25 or under and/or demonstrate the ability to break 100 on a regulation course.  A minimun of 54 holes of  attested scores is required to obtain an index.

Priority given to those who have gone through the Junior Golf Victoria Beginners Program and have played in the JGV Tour.

A Youth on the Course Membership is beneficial for playing the courses that support it.

New members must have a Golf Canada membership with an established index.

All players must adhere to the BC Golf Code of Conduct.  Misconduct will not be tolerated.  If a player violates the Code of Conduct policy they will be asked to leave the group.  We have 0 tolerance for bad behavior.
