Gingoog City Local Health Board Holds Successful Quarterly Meeting, Strengthening Commitment to Health for All
Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental – September 2, 2025 — The Gingoog City Local Health Board (LHB) successfully convened for its 3rd quarter meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the City Health Office Conference Room, bringing together city leaders, health officials, and partner agencies to address pressing health issues and strengthen the city’s health system.
Presided over by the city’s active chief executive, Mayor Erick G. Cañosa, alongside City Councilor Jerome Magan, the meeting was attended by hospital chiefs, department heads from line agencies, and dedicated personnel of the City Health Office. Their presence underscored the collective resolve to ensure accessible, quality health services for every Gingoognon.
The agenda covered a wide array of crucial health matters:
· Disease Surveillance Report – highlighting the city’s continued vigilance in monitoring priority diseases.
· Referral Flow and Service Readiness for STI/HIV Clients – presenting strengthened systems to ensure responsive care and treatment for sensitive health concerns.
· Updates on Universal Health Care (UHC) Implementation and Health System Strengthening – with focus on Konsulta/Yakap, the CHO’s PhilHealth Outpatient Services licensing status, and PuroKalusugan (PK), a primary health care initiative that aims to bring services closer to the grassroots.
· Crafting of the CY 2026–2028 Disaster Risk Reduction Management for Health Plan – ensuring the city’s readiness to respond to health emergencies and disasters.
· Presentation of Proposed Annual Budget for CY 2026 and the AOP-LIPH for CY 2026–2028 – aligning fiscal resources with health priorities.
· Upcoming Health Events and Campaigns – reaffirming the city’s active role in promoting public health awareness.
Mayor Cañosa, in his message, emphasized the importance of a responsive and people-centered health system, noting that the LHB remains a vital platform for inclusive health governance.
