Instructional Technology/Digital Learning

 Some examples of how I used instructional technology in the classroom: an 8th-grade digital science journal with hyperlinks, Podcasting Project anchor slides with clickable links, a how-to podcast on Flipgrid video, and a student work sample- Tune In With Hayden (podcast).

The digital journal design above was the brainchild of an educator on the science team that each teacher adapted to fit their needs.

I curated this particular journal using bits and pieces from the science team and then adding my own flair!  

   All three pieces of evidence were created with Google Slides.  I love taking advantage of hyperlinks!

After collaborating with one of my Liaisons, we saw the need for Chromebook education.  I created, organized, and facilitated "Chromebook For Kids (CCK)" classes across the district.  With the support of the team, we presented to each and every 3rd & 4th grade in the district.  We will continue to replicate this model next year with some adjustments due to staffing. 

Another need for instructional technology was related to online testing.   Our district uses a platform, Edugence, to administer assessments and collect data.  I noticed on a coaching cycle walk that students were not taking advantage of the online tools.  Similar to the CCK above,  I curated an "Edugence Online Tools Practice" class.   I facilitated this engaging tutorial across the district to 2nd-5th grade classrooms.  A practice test was created in Edugence and the students walked through each question, interacting with the tools.  This new knowledge will arm the kiddos with the tools they need to meet with success. 

One of my campus' 3rd-grade Theatre classes needed some ideas on how to edit their video and make it into a silent film for their Film Festival.  Adobe Express was the perfect tool to allow the kiddos to trim their videos, remove the sound and add music. These films were easily shared on the big screen by creating a Google Doc with the video links. To say I was blown away by The Texans' films would be an understatement.  Having gone through both my CCK and Edugence class, this was an awesome way to wrap up the year.
