Gilsoo Lee

Gilsoo Lee received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech in 2020. After graduation, he joined Nokia Bell Labs in Naperville, IL. He is currently a Senior Staff Standardization Specialist at Nokia. He is participating in 3GPP RAN4  covering various topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML),  radio resource management (RRM), reduced capability (RedCap) UE, new radio (NR) positioning, sidelink (SL), and SL relay. His general research interests include online optimization, machine learning, edge computing (fog computing), Internet of Things (IoT), non-terrestrial networks (NTN), vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, energy-harvesting networks, and mobile blockchain. He is a recipient of Nokia Foundation Centennial Scholarship in 2018. He received the TAOS Technical Committee’s Best Paper Award for the Green Communications Symposium of IEEE ICC 2016. He was recognized as an exemplary reviewer by IEEE Transactions on Communications in 2018 and 2019.
