When there is a community service project or volunteering opportunity, you must fill out a very short Google Form to sign up. This form contains all of the project details and lets you sign up, which lets us know that you plan on attending the event. If your availability changes after filling it out, please inform an officer through Remind or text.
You can find service hour reporting sheets on the wall outside Mr. Hinchey's classroom (RM. 1101). If you need a signature on any of the events, see Mr. Hinchey or Mia. Once you have two or three events on there, submit the form to Mr Hinchey. Make sure you always report your hours.Â
Additionally, you can create an online form on either Google Docs or Google Sheets! Please make sure to put all of the projects you do, the days you do them, how long you were there, and your name plus phone number somewhere on the form!!
Your required service hours must come from Key Club events. Unless otherwise specified, hours that come from other organizations will be counted toward your total service hours for things like the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, but not toward your official requirement.
The official GHS Key Club Requirement is as follows.
Semester 1: 15 Service Hours
Semester 2: 15 Service Hours
This adds up to a total of 30 Service Hours a year. While this may seem like a lot, in reality, it is not considering that some projects earn you multiple hours at once.
If you ever have an idea for a Key Club project, please contact an officer and we will make sure to make it happen! Whether it's somebody that you know who needs some help or just an idea you saw online, we can help you out in making sure that it becomes a reality. Even if you don't have the full details, we can help out by finding a date, figuring out all of the logistics, and recruiting some members to make it happen. This is your club!
