Global Hands-on Universe (GHOU) is a global project which links together teachers, scientists and educators from high schools, universities, research centers, and science centers all over the world. It incorporates inquiry-based methods such as problem-oriented and cross-curricular education as well as substantial contacts to scientists allowing students to participate in genuine astronomy projects.
GHOU FIRST Africa Regional Conference

GTTP International Teacher Training Workshop
24 - 25 September 2019
The GTTP goal is to create a worldwide network of Galileo Ambassadors and Galileo Teachers. These Ambassadors train Teachers in the effective use and transfer of astronomy education tools and resources into classroom science curricula. The Galileo Teachers are equipped to train other teachers in these methodologies, leveraging the work begun during IYA2009 in classrooms everywhere.
The training workshop will include
- Asteroids Search (INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL SEARCH COLLABORATION IASC)
- Moon craters and black holes with SalsaJ
