Public Displays

Since 1989 portions of the collection have been assembled into displays which were presented at Gun Shows and Military Collector shows. The firearms displays were focused on Springfield Armory firearms from 1860 to 1960 with heavy emphasis on the 1865 to 1900 era. The displays travelled across western Canada and northern Montana and received many awards.

Bomber Command Museum, Nanton Alberta

During a scheduled event at the Bomber Command Museum I was invited to present a display of Royal Canadian Air Force and United States Army Air Force artifacts. With 1940's popular music in the background the display garnered plenty of attention from visitors, many of whom were WW2 or Korean War veterans

Military Heritage Exhibition 2010

The local Canadian Forces Reserve unit, South Alberta Light Horse sponsored a series of annual Exhibitions from 2010 to 2012. The goal was to draw attention to the long history and presence of the Canadian Forces in the district. Through the promotion of private military displays and the Regimental Museum the public was able to see the development of military equipment in history.

Military Heritage Exhibition 2011

In 2011 at the Military Heritage Exhibition held at Patterson Armory home of the South Albert Light Horse, "A" Squadron, a departure from a routine display was presented. This multi-subject display featured the U.S. Army Postal Express Service of World War One and the American Expeditionary Force in North Russia and Siberia. The center opening featured WW1 and WW2 United States and Canadian Soldiers.

Military Heritage Exhibition 2012

This is the largest display I ever fielded at any kind of show or exhibition. The frontal display measured 32 feet with a six foot display case on each end. A total of over 150 individual artifacts were assembled for this display, which took over four hours to erect. It should be noted that, at the time, this did not comprise all the directly related 88th Division artifacts in the collection.

Medicine Hat Chapter Canadian Aviation Historical Society

At an annual General Meeting this small dedicated display was set-up to illustrate the cooperation of the United States Army Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force. The two cases on the table featured rank insignia from the two countries.

Suffield Days

The town of Suffield is a scant few kilometers from a regional Canadian Forces Base in southern Alberta. The organizers invited me to take part in the trade show of the event. Although the attendance was very low it was a relaxing opportunity to showcase a portion of the collection.
