Our lab seeks to uncover the critical role of mammalian soluble lectins in mucosal immunity, investigating their interaction with viral glycoproteins to understand infection pathways.

By using lectins as tools, we aim to track the changes in the sugar coatings of viral proteins and study how these changes impact viral spread between species (zoonotic transmission), immune evasion and disease severity. Our research aims to uncover the details of lectin-viral glycan interaction to better understand and combat viral infections.
