  • Usage Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, screens viewed, button clicks, session duration, and general usage patterns. This data is typically anonymized or aggregated.

  • Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, including device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (like Firebase installation IDs), IP address, and mobile network information. This helps with analytics and push notifications.

  • Crash Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect information about crashes and errors that occur in the App. This includes device state information, device model, operating system version, and stack traces at the time of the crash. This helps us diagnose and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

• Providing and Maintaining the App: To operate the core features of the expense tracker, allow you to record and manage your finances, and authenticate your account.

• Synchronization: To sync your financial data across devices if you are logged into an account (using Firebase Firestore).

• Improving the App: To understand how users interact with the App, identify popular features, troubleshoot issues, and enhance user experience (using Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics).

• Communication: To send you push notifications related to your finances, app updates, or other relevant information (using Firebase Cloud Messaging). You can usually control notification preferences in the App or your device settings.

• Security and Stability: To monitor for and prevent fraudulent activity, diagnose and fix crashes, and ensure the stability of the App (using Firebase Crashlytics).

• Compliance: To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With Service Providers (Google/Firebase): We use third-party services from Google (Firebase) to help us operate the App. These services process your information on our behalf for specific purposes:

• Firebase Authentication: Manages user login.

• Firebase Firestore: Stores and syncs your financial data in the cloud.

• Firebase Analytics: Provides usage analytics.

• Firebase Crashlytics: Provides crash reporting.

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Delivers push notifications.

 Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

 4. Third-Party Services

As mentioned, the App uses Google Firebase services. Other third-party libraries included are primarily for user interface elements (Jetpack Compose, Material Design, MPAndroidChart, Coil, Accompanist), local data storage (Room), and core functionality (Kotlin Coroutines, Gson), and are not expected to independently collect personal data for their own purposes beyond supporting the App's functionality.

 5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We use services like Firebase which employ industry-standard security practices. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

 6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with the App's services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Financial data and images you enter are retained until you delete them or delete your account (if applicable). Anonymized analytics and crash data may be retained for longer periods for statistical purposes.

 7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

 8. Your Choices and Rights

•  Account Information: You may be able to review and update your account information through the App's settings or via the Google account you used to sign in.

• Data Access/Deletion: You can typically manage your financial data (entries, images) directly within the App. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Please contact us if you wish to exercise these rights.

• Push Notifications: You can usually disable push notifications through your device's settings menu.

• Analytics: While Firebase Analytics helps us improve the App, you may be able to opt-out of certain data collection via app settings if provided, or through device-level settings (e.g., limiting ad tracking).

 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy within the App or on our Play Store listing and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
