This page provides information on how users of the GharKharch app, developed by Advantage Tech, can manage and request the deletion of their data.
Deleting Data Within the AppYou have direct control over much of the data you create within the GharKharch app:
Individual Expenses: To delete a specific expense you have recorded, navigate to the expense details screen within the app and look for a delete option (often represented by a trash can icon). Confirming deletion will remove this specific expense record from your account.
Expense Groups:
If you are the creator/administrator of a group, you may have the option to delete the entire group within the group settings screen.
If you are a member of a group, you can typically leave the group through the group settings screen. This will remove your association with that group.
Custom Categories: If you have created custom expense categories, you may be able to delete them via the category management section of the app (if available).
Deleting items as described above removes them from active use in the app and our servers.Requesting Account and Associated Data DeletionIf you wish to delete your entire GharKharch account and all associated data stored on our servers, please follow these steps:
Send an email to advantageyash@gmail.com.
Use the subject line: "GharKharch Account Deletion Request".
In the body of the email, please include the email address associated with your GharKharch account so we can verify your identity.
Types of Data We HandleAs outlined in our Google Play Store listing's Data Safety section, the GharKharch app handles data necessary for its functionality, including:
Personal Info: User IDs (generated by our system), Email Address (used for login).
Financial Info: Expense details you record (amount, category, date, notes, etc.).
Photos and Videos: If you choose to upload receipt images (permission required).
Files and Docs: Data exported or backed up from the app settings.
App Activity/User Content: Information about groups you create or join, custom categories.
Device or Other IDs: Identifiers needed for sending notifications (like FCM tokens).
Data RetentionWhen you delete specific data within the app (like an expense), or when your account deletion request is processed, the data is removed from our active databases (Firebase Firestore and potentially local storage on your device). Please note that residual copies of deleted data may remain in our system backups for a limited period (typically up to [e.g., 30 or 90] days) before being permanently erased, as part of our standard data recovery procedures. We do not use this backup data for any operational purpose.Contact UsIf you have any questions about managing or deleting your data, please contact us at advantageyash@gmail.com
