Workshops and Conferences

The application of mathematics to medicine is an exciting and novel area of research within the discipline of Applied Mathematics. One aspect of this research is the creation of mathematical models of various disease processes, taking into account the interactions between the different components of the complex biological system that underlies the process.  The workshop aims to increase our understanding of ;  (1) the onset of diseases and how they progress and to  discuss available treatment strategies that are optimal in each situation.  (2) biological organisms at the cellular level.

The goal of this workshop is to inform about research activities in the fields of numerical analysis and applied mathematics. Scientists from Ghanaian universities and other Ghanaian research institutions are particularly invited to present their results/interests and discuss their ideas. Apart from strengthening already well established contacts this annual workshop should also provide an opportunity to start new collaborations.

Machine Learning with Application Workshop

Machine learning is currently on the rise and has severa uses in all aspects of our lifes. In this workshop, we want to discuss machine learning techniques with applications. The workshop will merge all aspects of research and development in ML, including but not limited to data mining, computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), intelligent systems, neural networks, bioinformatics and their applications in the areas of engineering, medicine, biology, education, business and social sciences. It covers a broad spectrum of applications in the community, from industry, government, and academia.

Graduate Students Fair

This workshop aims to bring graduate students to share their research and foster new relationships with other graduate students. It is a way to learn from other young researchers and listen to their stories as they plan to continue pursuing academic or industry careers. The talks can be formal to semi-formal and informal as it seeks to either introduce others to new concepts or share their research works.
