Who are we?

GreenHouse is a social impact incubator that offers programs, opportunities and a community for students to develop problem solving skills, to form innovative ideas and make new forms of sustainable impact around social or environmental change. We are hosted out of United College (formerly St. Paul's University College) at the University of Waterloo. GreenHouse is open to University of Waterloo students at all levels of study.

Our Impact

Social Impact Showcase

Each term, GreenHouse hosts the Social Impact Showcase to celebrate the achievements of our students and award funding to early-stage social impact ventures. Since our inception in 2013, we have supported 26 cohorts of innovators and funded 97 ventures through the Social Impact Fund.

Impact Report

For more information on our impact, how GreenHouse supports the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and spotlights on inspiring community members, see our latest Impact Report.

Contributors & Support

Special thanks to the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation’s support of The Meaningful Contribution for Healthy Youth Development Pilot Project. Their support has allowed GreenHouse to make its Workplace Innovation Program modules available online to the broader Waterloo Region community, and to deepen its work in supporting young people from diverse backgrounds and those who face multiple barriers.
