Introduction to the College
Located in the historic town of Tharushah, in the culturally and historically rich `Saheti region` of Sindh, Government Girls Degree College Tharushah is an important educational institution dedicated to providing quality higher education to girls of the area and its surrounding communities.
Construction of the college building commenced in 2011, and the building was handed over to the College Education Department in 2023. The college campus covers approximately four acres and comprises a total of 14 rooms. These include a Principal’s Office, four Science Laboratories, separate Male and Female Staff Rooms, a Clerk’s Office, and classrooms for academic activities. However, the Administration Block has not yet been handed over to the college administration as it remains incomplete.
Academic activities at Government Girls Degree College Tharushah formally commenced in July 2023. Prof. Ambree Naz Kanjo was appointed as the college’s first Principal on 18 July 2023. Since 19 September 2025, Dr. Ali Raza Kazi has been serving as Principal, under whose leadership the college’s academic and administrative activities are progressing.
At present, nine teachers from various disciplines are serving at the college. More than 500 female students are currently enrolled in different First Year and Intermediate programmes, including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Computer Science, and Humanities.
The college is gradually emerging as an important centre of knowledge, opportunity, and hope for the young women of Tharushah and the surrounding areas, enabling them to pursue higher education and move confidently towards a brighter and more promising future.
