Traditional Cultural Practices, is an Elders led NGO dedicated to ensuring that traditional Cultural practices and knowledge from the World’s oldest living Culture is protected, maintained, and lives on.
TCP works in a number of different ways supporting Elders, from healing on Country programs, building homes in remote areas for Elders and Community to access traditional places to establishing the first Cultural schools in Australia that will teach people from all walks of life Cultural ways of being.
To understand the importance of this work check out these short films.

So TCP now needs to establish and grow a community of support to help them achieve two things:
Spread the word about the importance of maintaining and preserving First Nation knowledge, Culture, and practices.
Secure ongoing financial contributions. To provide focus which we’ve decided to establish the CultureUp! movement.
We need to launch the CultureUP! movement with a creative idea that shows that indigenous knowledge, Culture, and practices are precious and valuable to all people and Country, and we will collectively fail as a community if we don’t work together to ensure they do.
The goal is to sign up 2,500 supporters to the TCP supporters Community. They don’t have to donate, but sign-on. (This part of the website will be updated in coming weeks)
We need to reach engaged, socially progressive, and supportive members of the broader Community. (This includes people, businesses and organisations)
What do we know about them?
Approximately 60% of the population gives to charity annually.
They are interested in and proud of indigenous Culture
They want to feel involved in giving
They are often younger with less entrenched attitudes.
They give to organisations they feel aligned to and passionate about.
There is a wonderful opportunity and contrast to explore between the traditional ways stories and knowledge have been transferred by indigenous Communities and Elders, and the way memes, ideas, and content are shared today via social platforms and online communities.
How can we get people to use social media to share a message about traditional culture and practices so that they feel that if they don't share it they will be contributing to its disappearance?
Thought-starter: How might we create media that self destructs if it’s not shared - just like the Cultural knowledge we’re trying to hold on to?
CultureUp!
Let’s support traditional Culture, together.

NB: we will be updating the form and UX for ‘join us’ section before we launch the campaign
You’ve only got 48 hours so we aren’t expecting fully worked through campaigns or concepts. But what we do need are clever, potent ideas that will travel.
Ideas and tactics that:
will work hard on a minimal budget of $20K.
that can be shared digitally and might even get the TCP some PR.
naturally take advantage of social platforms and native features
cleverly symbolise the decay of knowledge
give people pause to consider the importance of traditional knowledge
Please submit your ideas in digital slide format (PDF, Keynote, or G-Slides deck).
5 slides max, please.
Ideally, your idea will clearly articulate your concept, tactic, approach, or idea.
A guide - but feel free to do you.
What it is: description rational

Submissions by email to goodfornothing48challenge@gmail.com
Submission deadline is 9 PM Sunday 24.5.20 (yes technically a few more hours than 48 but that’s ok).
A panel comprised of GFN crew and TCP directors will select a winning idea. The winner will receive a placement at a TCP Cultural school. And if the bush isn’t your thing you are welcome to gift it to a friend or family member.
NB: Travel to and from the school will be the winner’s responsibility, and is not part of the prize offer. There are currently two TCP Cultural schools, one in NSW which is open to Men and Women and has on-site accommodation, food, and lodging. The other is in Arnhem Land and is a Women’s only space and would require the winner to plan their travel, food, and accommodation.
Lastly, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
