We are so glad you are here. At NexGen Ministry, our heart is to come alongside parents as you raise your children to grow as Kingdom kids and strong followers of Christ. We understand the joys and challenges of parenting in today’s world, and our goal is to provide support, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way.

While Pastor Vernon believes that students need a safe space within youth ministry to ask questions and share what is truly on their hearts—meaning parents will not be involved in every aspect—he is passionate about partnering with parents strategically and effectively. Together, we aim to live out the “village” the Bible speaks about, surrounding our children with guidance, support, and godly community.

As part of this partnership, we have planned three “Hot Topic” events where we will explore important issues facing families today. These events provide practical, biblically-based strategies and insights from trusted professionals to help you parent with confidence and wisdom. On this page, you’ll also find resources, tools, and ways to stay connected so you can grow alongside your children in faith, purpose, and impact.

Recognizing and addressing the battle of
homosexuality and pornography.
Two major challenges that children and teens face today are homosexuality and pornography. This session will help parents understand the causes, effects, and early signs of these issues, which can begin affecting children as early as age seven.

We are honored to have Dr. Kim Sanders, a Christian Biblical Psychotherapist and Counselor recognized across Texas, as our guest speaker. He will provide insightful guidance and practical strategies for addressing and supporting children who may be facing these challenges, helping parents navigate these sensitive topics with wisdom, compassion, and a biblical perspective.

How well do you know your child?
Many parents believe that the issues and influences of today’s world affect other children more than their own. This session will provide parents with up-to-date statistics and insights into the challenges teens face today.

We will also offer practical strategies for addressing these issues at home and in relationships with your children. Parents will be encouraged to foster deeper, meaningful conversations with their teens, helping them navigate these challenges with greater maturity, wisdom, and faith.

Children and Technology! What you NEED to know!

This session will inform parents about the many apps, programs, and online platforms that can dangerously target teenagers or are being used in unsafe ways that most parents may not be aware of.

We are honored to have Peter Landry, a former FBI agent who specialized in investigating unsafe child gaming systems, apps, and child abduction platforms, as our guest speaker. He will provide insight, practical strategies, and tools to help parents stay informed, protect their children online, and educate teens about using technology safely.
