Grant Awards

February 2024 Awards

The Gewirtz Fund made two awards in 2024.

November 2022 Grants Award Cycle

The Gewirtz Fund provided 8 gifts to support unfunded priorities in string music programs in Massachusetts public schools. This year's grants upgraded or repaired violins, cellos and bows. The Gewirtz Fund's mission is to inspire young students to continue and deepen their connection with string music which, research shows, is much more likely when a student is playing a quality instrument. We congratulate the music teachers and string programs in Lynn, Somerville, Wakefield, Melrose, Dracut, Beverly, Rockport and Salem for their passionate commitment to students and classical music.
