Often, there are times when the reactions from people and the outcomes of situations do not match the picture we have in our minds. We think to ourselves,
Why don’t they do what I WANT?!
We would have pictured the event(s) unfolding one way, only to see them turn out differently. Weask ourselves, “What happened?” We demand that control be given [back] to us.
Give me back the control!
What does scripture have to say about this?
Psalm 24:1 (KJV) The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
What do we do when we realize that we have no control?
We get beyond the NEED TO CONTROL. We remind ourselves that JESUS IS STILL IN CONTROL. We reclaim our inner peace by meditating on Psalm 27.
Psalm 27:1 (KJV) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?
Our desire to control hinders our relationships and can negatively impact our interactions with people and the world around us.
What is the cure for this CONTROL-Virus?
REFOCUS on the one who is sovereign.
GOD.
Psalm 46:1 (KJV) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
