1) Grow your subscriber list
Do not stop building your email list even if you think you have plenty. Do not pay or rent email lists, which will get you nowhere. Simply, place a sign up form on to your website home page and let your list grow passively. You can also place them on different pages of your website but you should be careful not to block any important content with your form. Alternatively, you can place advertisements for your business or products on Facebook, YouTube, or Google to collect emails if you have the necessary budget.
2) Provide new products or services
One of the main tricks of business is to provide a diversified product portfolio. Keep bringing in new products and offer them to your customers. Let your customers know about your products using email marketing (talk about product benefits) and offer them special discounts when they are newly available in your shop. Do not forget to place an expire date on your offers, which will let your customers respond and take action.
3) Encourage your subscribers to respond
Talk them or promise them something unique, which sounds only for them and different from other emails they receive. For example, address them by their names on your emails (by using autoresponders) and offer them discounts or promotions on special days (Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, etc) rather than dumping constant product advertisements on their inboxes. You can also use discount or promotion codes with your emails as a more effective business strategy. This will keep them in check, cherished and engaging.
4) Address your subscribers on a personal level
When I say, address your subscribers on a personal level; I do not mean only by their names. While that part is something you should do; you should also be even more personal than that. You should organize your mail send outs according to the time zone they live in or anticipate their needs through tests or polls.
5) Offer an easy way out
The unsubscription method should be visible on your emails. Place a link at the end of your emails and let your subscribers act on it whenever they want. Do not be afraid to lose the uninterested party and do not make it harder to unsubscribe. If your subscribers cannot find that link, they will surely divert your emails into spam, which will cause you problems eventually.
6) Write engaging emails
If your subscribers have opened your email that means they are interested in your content. When this happens, you should keep them on your email as long as possible. Try avoiding long paragraphs and use relevant keywords.Use bullet points to emphasize importance where necessary and use smart pictures to grab their attention while demonstrating your content.
7) Provide eye-catching buttons
The main goal of email marketing is to create traffic to your website or product. If you have no clicks on your emails that mean you have no customers. Use eye-catching buttons with text where necessary (such as Join Now!, Buy Now!, etc) The more exciting you sound on your emails, the more attractive your subscribers will be to take action.
8) Do not over-promote
The promotion is an important element in email marketing to grow your business. However, it is not everything. You should establish healthy relationships with your audience just like any other business. At the end of the day, long-lasting relationships are the key elements for business growth. Provide them with multiple ways of customer support (FAQs, email, phone, live chat, etc) to find answers easily. You can also host webinars through your emails to connect with them. Provide value and show that you think about them.
9) Be optimized for mobile
More than 50% of emails are being opened on smartphones or tablets in our day. So, if your emails are not mobile-friendly, you will lose a lot of traffic.
10) Use split testing
Use different variations of emails with your audience on a specific product and see which one is better at boosting your sales. Send them out at different times based on where your customers are located, use different subject headers or change the body text to increase your response rates.
