6TH SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - TONDELA - PORTUGAL

From Oct 09 to 13th, took place in Tondela - Portugal, the 6th and last STE of the project in parallel with the 3rd TPM.

Several activities were carried out with a large participation of both members of the school and the local community.

Some of the project products, like gHandbook and the gBooklet collection, were presented.

For a few months a special show Utopia(s) was developed to be presented at the meeting to the general public.

The gExhibition was set up with a selection of posters from previous exhibitions.

700 pupils, teachers, of the school and the teachers and pupils of the partner schools present at the meeting participated in a great initiative around a Time Capsule, containing some of their expectations for the future, which was kept in an artistic installation specially created for this purpose.

Several other work sessions and cultural visits took place.


5TH SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - BLACHOWNIA - POLAND

From May 21 to 25th, the 5th STE of the project was held in Blachownia - Poland, dedicated to the theme Solidarity & Volunteering.

The gExhibition and gTalks took place in the city of Blachownia. After the opening days the gExhibition was moved to the city central park, a public place.

The pupils drew up the usual Manifesto that was presented and approved by all the participants, at a ceremony held also in Blachownia.

Several other work sessions and cultural visits took place, including a programme with a local volunteer association and a visit to Czestochowa.


4TH SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - dikli - latvia

From February 11 to 16th, the 4th STE of the project was held in Dikli - Latvia, dedicated to the theme Media Impact.

The gExhibition took place in the city of Valmiera, in a commercial space, with great public visibility, and with the presence of some local media in the opening session.

The gTalks conference was held in the cultural center of Kocēni. Participated in this session the young speakers, local authorities, namely, the mayor and his assistant Kristers Blūms, the cultural representant of the municipality. In the same session, a lecture was also presented by Liene Locmele of the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, on the same topic. The same professor oriented an workshop in which students could develop some proposals to create different "social networks".

The pupils drew up the usual Manifesto that was presented and approved by all the participants, at a ceremony held in Dikli.

Several other work sessions and cultural visits, including to capital city, Riga, and The Natural Park of Kocenu.

The meeting finished the meeting ended with a soiree at the cultural center of Dikli, open to the general public and, once again, with the presence of local authorities.

3rd SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - Kälviä - finland

From October 2 to 6th, the 3rd STE of the project was held in Kälviä - Finland, dedicated to the theme Design and Sustainability.

The gExhibition took place in the city of Kokkola, in the municipal library with the presence of the municipal cultural director Mr Sampo Purontausand in the opening session. During the same session there was a musical performance using the traditional Finnish instrument: the kantele

The gTalks conference which was held in Kälviä, open to the whole school community, was moderated by the Municipal Pupils' Council chairman and invited guests from the Ekorosk and Kokkotyösäätiö companies, as well as the young speakers from the various schools.

The pupils drew up the usual Manifesto that was presented and approved by all the participants, at a ceremony held in Suviranta.

At the same time there were various work sessions and cultural visits, among others, to Neristan, the old city center of Kokkola and to Kalajoki.

The pupils and teachers of the various visiting schools were also able to attend classes and participate in some of the school's activities, such as an open session of Pupil's Council, as a way to better understand the educational reality of Finland.

2nd SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - Ljubljana - Slovenia

From 29 May to 2 June, the second STE of the project was held in Ljubljana on the theme: Migration and Demography.

gExhibition was part of the BIO 25 - 25th Biennal of Design, Ljubljana, Slovenia - this year under the motto: Farway to Close, integrating a section dedicated to migration: New Heroes, and organised by MAO, Slovenia’s national Museum of Architecture and Design.

The official opening exhibition was held with the presence of the Director of the Museum, Matevž Čelik , and the representative of the Government in the garden of the museum, where it will be open to the public from May 31 To July 1, 2017.

The gTalks conference was held with the presence of all project participants, school students, parents, in addition to some guests. In addition to the young speakers, representatives from various countries, a number of guests also attended the conference, namely: From the Youth Department of the City of Ljubljana, Mrs Katarina Gorenc; Representative of UNICEF, Mrs Berina Arslanagic-Ibisevic, country coordinator for Refugee and Migrant Response; Representative of Amnesty International, Mr Samo Selimovic; the music composer Mrs Maja Matic and the World Champion in Boules, Mr Jure Kozjek.

The meeting was subject to disclosure and reporting by the national media as can be seen in this report of RTV SLO Public Broadcaster. (vídeo)

Other activities were conducted at the OŠ Nove Fužine project partner school, among others, workshops for students on continuity activities (gMechanisms) and project management sessions for teachers.

The program of the meeting also included a visit to the BLED region, with outdoor activities and cultural visits



1ST SHORT-TERM EXCHANGE - VILANOVA DEL CAMÍ - CATALONIA - SPAIN

The meeting took place at Vilanova del Camí, Catalonia, Spain, and was organized by the host team: Institut Pla de les Moreres.

All activities took place as expected, with great participation by students, teachers and the entire school community.

Many parents, local stakeholders and local authorities have also participated with great commitment in some of the activities.

The activities developed more internally and more directed to the school community, gTalks and others, involved about 150 students.

In the activities of public character, gExhibition, Manifesto Ceremony, and others, among students and general public participated more than 400 people.

The public nature of some of the activities allowed a very large impact of the project on the local community.

In addition to activities of a more ephemeral nature such as the gExhibition and Ceremony Manifesto, some activities have led to more definitive results, such as a large mural on the theme of the meeting, "freedom of expression", in a public space with great centrality and convergence, and which will contribute to significant visibility of the project.

Other activities related to the later development of the project were carried out, and others related to the consolidation of the whole working group, exchange and sharing of experiences among students and teachers and cultural exchange, namely the visit to Barcelona and some of its main cultural symbols.
