The rules are in place for the safety and well being of the users, the lab, and its equipment. Failure to follow these rules may result in disciplinary action and/or loss of lab privileges.
Be good Digital Citizens
Follow the Traffic Light System. Ask for permission (Yellow) or help (Red) when needed.
Clean up after yourself.
Use material and tools carefully and with purpose.
Practice safety at all times. Use gloves, safety glasses, and coveralls to protect yourself. Give everyone personal space to protect them.
Traffic Light System: Zones, tools, and machinery may be labelled with a color. Each color indicates a rule for use.
Enforce all lab rules

Keep room clean and tidy for the next group
Logout/shutdown all computers as you leave
Turn off AC, lights and other equipments as you leave
Scheduling dates and times are on a first come first served basis. First priority are the teachers using the labs as their main class venue. Second priority is given to scheduled classes.
Any irregular class must be scheduled. Labs are bookable using their respective Google Calendar.
The Lab is a shared space. Limit reservations to a minimum to give chance for other teachers to use the space.
All students must be supervised by a staff or teacher of GES at all times. Non-students must have prior permission to enter and use the labs.
Access to malicious or pornographic material is NOT allowed and will be dealt with accordingly. No websites other than what is allowed or instructed
Maintain a clean and organized lab and work area. Place trash in designated bins.
Wash your hands before and after using the lab.
Food or drinks are NOT allowed.
LOITERING or HORSE-PLAY is NOT allowed.
Free time is NOT allowed in the lab. Games are NOT allowed unless assigned by the teacher.
The use of smartphones, smartwatches and the like are prohibited unless otherwise specified by the teacher.
Items that pose danger or harm to yourself or others when working is not allowed in the lab. Depending on teacher discretion, these items may be confiscated and disciplinary action will be addressed.
Equipment and devices in the lab must be treated and handled with respect and care.
Some equipment or devices are off limits. Please ask the lab assistant or ICT teacher before use
No equipment is allowed outside the room without filling in a form with the Makerspace Crew.
For loss or damages, please report to the IT Support Team.
When appropriate, use headphones to maintain a quiet working atmosphere.
Any new software must be requested from the IT Support Team.
Return all equipment and devices to their designated places.
Logout of the computer and turn off AC, lights and other equipment when not in use.
This includes 3D Printers, Heat Guns, Laser Cutter, CNC Router, and other machinery.
