Revenge Era

The Revenge Era

A lot happened with Gerard and the whole band during this era. The band was gaining a lot of popularity very quickly and this had a huge impact on them. In their documentary film, Life on a Murder Scene, they talked a lot about it. Gerard was struggling with addiction. Eventually he got fully clean and sober. The rest of the band members, tour managers, and everyone around him helped him through it.

What were they working on during this time?

During this time they were working on their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. This album was mostly inspired by Gerard's interest in horror and his obsession with revenge. He was bullied in school and that formed this obsession he had with getting revenge. This album was his way of doing so.

What did Gerard look like?

During this era, Gerard along with the rest of the band had a sort of "uniform' that they would wear. Gerard would wear a black suit with a red tie. Later in this era, that would change to a bulletproof vest. He had semi long black hair at this time, which later in the era would be chopped short and the back got bleached. This would also change to having the back dyed red. In this era he also had black hair with teal roots.
