Elements of the weather
There are primary elements that drive all weather:
(i) Temperature
Temperature refers to how hot or cold the atmosphere is.
(ii) Atmospheric pressure
Atmospheric pressure is the weight of the atmosphere overhead.
(iii) Wind speed and direction
Wind is the movement of the air.
(iv) Humidity
Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere.
(v) Cloud cover and type
Clouds are water droplets or water in different states (like ice and snow crystals). Clouds come in a variety of forms.
(vi) Visibility
Visibility is the measurement of the degree through which an object can be observed over a certain distance.
(vii) Sunshine Duration
Sunshine duration is the length of time the Earth's surface is directly exposed to solar radiation.
(viii) Precipitation
Precipitation is water released from clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail. Precipitation is the main way atmospheric water returns to the surface of the Earth. Most precipitation falls as rain.
