POLIPIXEL LAB
Advanced Knowledge Studio for Human & Applied Geo-Research
PoliPixel Lab is a multidisciplinary research initiative established in honour of Professor Lakshami Prasad Lakhera (Guru Ji), conceived as a platform for advancing geospatial and demographic inquiry in support of evidence-based public policy. The laboratory brings together remote sensing, spatial data science, and human geography to translate fine-scale spatial observations into analytically grounded insights relevant to governance and development planning. Its research agenda engages closely with the socio-ecological dynamics of Himalayan regions, with particular attention to rural transformation, public health disparities, climate-induced migration, and patterns of land-use change. By addressing underexplored intersections among applied geospatial analysis, spatial demography, electoral and census studies, climate perception, poverty assessment, and policy evaluation, the lab seeks to bridge methodological innovation with societal relevance. Through advanced cartographic practices and data visualisation frameworks, PoliPixel Lab interprets complex demographic and environmental processes in forms accessible to researchers, policymakers, and communities alike. The overarching objective is to generate empirically robust knowledge capable of informing sustainable policy interventions and improving livelihood outcomes for vulnerable populations across Himalayan landscapes.
