Advent map

Every day a recommendation for the next day... (see below)

December 24th

Taadaaa.. Finally the 24th has arrived!

To let the wait for the presents go by faster, take the bus to the “Zentrum” (Neuhausen) on line 7.

Then down to the Rhine Falls. Take a selfie of yourself there with the Rhine Falls in the background and send it out into the world as a Christmas greeting.

One last time on the Christmas card?

December 23nd

Is there anyone you know in the hospital?

If so, wouldn't it be nice to swing by? And don't forget to bring some cookies...

You can arrive stress-free by bus. To do this, take line 6 to the “Kantonsspital”.

When is my bus coming? You can see this on the Advent (bus) card

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarte

December 22nd

A snow walk at the Engi Weiher.

Attention: Only if it is not too slippery, then go steeply uphill from the “Riet (line 3) to the “Engi Weiher”.

There you can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere very close to the city before you either descend back to the Breite or - a little longer - go back into the valley via Neuhausen.

Have you ever been on the Christmas (bus) map?

Enjoy real Swiss cuisine at the end of the year?

You can do this, for example, in the traditional Schützenhaus restaurant  https://schuetzenhaus.ch/

It is located at the “Schützenhaus” bus stop of the same name and can be reached with lines 3, 4 or 7.

Also take a look at the Advent card:

A wonderful hike in the northeast.
From the Schweizersbild to the Herblingen Castle.

The starting point is the bus stop “Schweizersbild” on line 6

Then continue through the forest and the open meadows to the Herblingen Castle.

December 16th

Off to the Herblinger Advent windows.

In the community of Herblingen, many families have once again put in the work to decorate the Advent windows. https://herblingen.ch/images/events/Adventsfenster/2024/241201_Flyer_Herblinger_Adventsfenster_2024.pdf

This can be perfectly combined with an evening walk including Some Glühwein.

Glühwein? Well then it would be better to take the bus... Take line 5 to “Hägli”.

Who hasn't been on our Advent map yet? https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarte  (live buses included).

December 15th

Do you still need Christmas presents?

Then the "Open Sunday" comes just in time!

The Herblingermarkt (https://www.herblingermarkt.ch/ ) is open on December 15th! (also on December 22nd, by the way).

Hungry? Why not take a quick trip to the Migros restaurant  https://filialen.migros.ch/de/migros-restaurant-schaffhausen-herblinger-markt  and go to the legendary salad buffet..

Parking worries? We recommend taking line 5 to the “Einkaufszentren”.

Be sure to take a look at our Advent map https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarte

December 14th

Manhattan vibes in the canton of Schaffhausen? Yes of course!

Have you already seen the skyscraper view from the RiVi?

https://rhyfall-village.ch/

It's best to reserve a table in the “Roof” ( https://rhyfall-village.ch/roof/ ) - with luck right next to the window.

And the whole activity in an environmentally friendly way with the VBSH to “Rhytech” (lines 1 and 7).

You can see live buses on the Advent map https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarte

Have fun!

December 13th

Advent celebration on December 13, 2024 with the motto “Glühwein on Lindenplatz”:

In the municipality of Buchthalen, numerous windows are once again lit up with Christmas lights during Advent. Why not take an evening walk and enjoy the works of art?

On Friday, December 13th, the windows will be opened with an Advent celebration on Lindenplatz.
https://www.qv-buchthalen.ch/agenda/

Come by and toast the Advent season with us with a Glühwein.

To do this, take line 6 to “Buchthalen”.

Have you already viewed the Advent map?

December 12th

When was the last time you were on the Munot? Some tourists do this more often than the people of Schaffhausen...

The best way to do this is to take line 4 to “Künzleheim” and then walk a few steps to Munot.

Another tip: Then take the Munotstieg down into the Unterstadt  and have something to eat or drink there. Or to the movies? https://www.kiwikinos.ch/schaffhausen/

You can find the Christmas (bus) map and more here:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarte

December 11th

Tip for December 11th:
Why not go to Niklausen for the Christmas tree sale?

https://qvniklausen.ch/christbaumverkauf-2/

To do this, take line 1 to “Niklausen”.

We're curious what the bus driver will say when you get on the bus with a tree...

Where are the live buses on line 1?

December 10th

Our tip for December 10th: Hiking where others like to run:

Go from the “Mühlentor” (Line 1 or 6) to the Rhine power plant and cross the Rhine there to the Zurich side.

Then continue on the ZH side to Flurlingen.

Then over the Flurlingerbrücke and on the SH side back to the starting point.

December 9th

Every Schaffhausen resident has driven on Rosenbergstrasse.

On the way towards Schaffhausen you know that there is a great view point from which you can see the Rhine Valley. Why not go there, sit on the bench and enjoy it in peace?

If you think that's a good idea, then take line 7 to “Hohfluh”, for example.

Take a look at the Advent card:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 8th

Sunday, December 8th, 1st Advent:

Want to escape everyday city life... even if it's just for an hour?

No problem if you just drive to the last stop of a line and take a walk there.

For example, take line 8 to the final stop “Im Freien” and explore the vineyards there.

You can find the Christmas (bus) card and more here:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 7th

Saturday December 7th and one day before the 2nd Advent.

It's slowly getting really Christmassy.

A visit to the Schaffhausen Christmas market is a must.

https://www.weihnachtsmarkt-sh.ch/

So that you can drink a fine Glühwein there (or two), please take public transport there.

Just go to the Schaffhausen “Bahnhof”, which can be reached by all lines.

More information about this can also be found on the Advent card

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 6th

The weekend is here... off to the Schifflände!

No matter whether during the day or in the evening. When the Rhine lies so calmly and Feuerthalen is reflected in it, it's simply a great atmosphere.

Another winter tip: go to the Güterhof for fondue in the evening.

https://www.gueterhof.ch/de/events/2024/fondue/

So that you can enjoy a fine white wine and a "Kirsch", please take bus line 6 or line 8 home to “Schifflände”.

You can also see how to get there here:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 5th

Discover something on December 5th?

There are areas in your own city that you are never there. You just drive through.

How not to get out at the bend in the Rhine and explore something? There is pizza, barbers, groceries, cars, bikes and certainly more.

Take line 1 to the “Kreuz” and have a look around.

"Kreuz"? Line 1? Here it quickly becomes clearer:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 4th

Why not just an unusual gift from a Brocki?

There are several of these in the Schaffhausen area. One is in Neuhausen, for example.

The Galleria 13.

https://www.galleria13.ch/

To do this, take line 1 to “Durstgraben” (or get off at “Herbstäcker”).

Where are the buses? For example, you can see here:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 3rd

On December 3rd you could pay a visit to Radio Munot…

The traditional Advent aperitif will take place in Vordergasse 58 in the Zunftsaal zum Kaufleuten / “Schaffhausen Nachrichten” from 7 p.m.

https://radiomunotclub.ch/anlaesse/

You would definitely arrive with line 8 via “Bachstrasse” - but of course also from the "Bahnhof" (all routes).

You can find the Christmas (bus) card and more here:

https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 2nd

Swimming or ice skating or both?
We suggest a visit to the KSS on the Breite on December 2nd. The best way to do this is to take line 3 to “KSS”.

https://kss.ch/

The live buses and other recommendations are here:  https://sites.google.com/view/geo-zpheres-com/home/adventskarteen

December 1st

The first tip for December 1st is a short hike from the Schaffhausen side of the Rhine to the Laufen Castle on the Zurich side.

There you can enjoy the “winter magic”  https://www.schlosslaufen.ch/.../02-events.../winterzauber/

The starting point is the “Rheinstrasse” stop on line 7.
