## 1. Introduction
SpinRoll ("we", "our", "the app") is a dice roller, spinning wheel and random picker for Android.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, where that information is stored,
and what choices you have.
**In short: SpinRoll has no user accounts and no cloud storage. Everything you create in the app
stays on your device.** The only information that leaves your phone is what Google's advertising,
billing, analytics and crash-reporting services collect, described in Section 5, and anything you
choose to send yourself using the app's Share or Contact buttons.
By using SpinRoll, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Information you create in the app
All of the following is created by you, stored **only on your device**, and never transmitted to
us or anyone else:
- **Saved sets** — the names, text labels, emoji, colours and weightings of any dice sets or
wheels you build.
- **Roll history** — the results of your rolls and spins, and the set they came from.
- **Fairness statistics** — a count of how often each numeric die face has come up.
- **Colour Match rosters** — any player names you type into the Colour Match game.
- **Photo faces** — any photos you choose to put on a die or wheel slice (see Section 6).
- **App preferences** — theme, roll speed, sound, vibration, shake-to-roll, and your last dice
setup.
We have no server, so we cannot see, receive, or recover any of it.
### 2.2 Information collected automatically
- **Advertising identifier and ad interaction data** — collected by Google AdMob to serve and
measure adverts. The app declares the `AD_ID` permission for this purpose.
- **Purchase status** — Google Play Billing tells the app whether the one-time "SpinRoll Pro"
unlock has been purchased, so ads can be removed and premium features unlocked.
- **Update checks** — the Google Play in-app update service checks whether a newer version of
SpinRoll is available.
- **App usage statistics** — Firebase Analytics records anonymous, automatically generated events
such as app opens, session length and which screens are viewed, along with device model,
Android version and approximate (country-level) location. It is tied to a random app-instance
ID, not to your name or account. None of the content you create (Section 2.1) is included.
- **Crash reports** — if the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report
containing the stack trace, device model, Android version, app version and a random
installation ID, so we can find and fix the bug. No content you create is included.
The app itself does **not** collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location,
microphone or camera input, or any health or financial data.
### 2.3 Information you send us deliberately
If you tap **Contact us** in Settings, the app opens your email client with a pre-filled message
containing the app version and your Android version, to help us diagnose problems. Nothing is sent
until you press send in your own email app, and you can delete that text first.
If you tap **Share**, the app hands the text you are sharing to whichever app you pick. That is
your choice and your data.
## 3. How We Use Information
- To provide the app's core functions — rolling dice, spinning wheels, saving sets, keeping
history and fairness statistics. All of this happens on your device.
- To display adverts to users on the free tier, through Google AdMob.
- To verify and restore your SpinRoll Pro purchase, through Google Play Billing.
- To let you know when an app update is available.
- To understand, in aggregate, which features are used, and to diagnose and fix crashes, through
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
We do not use your information for profiling, marketing emails, or any purpose beyond running the
app.
## 4. Data Storage and Security
### 4.1 Local storage only
- Your sets, roll history and statistics are stored in a private database inside the app's own
storage area on your device.
- Your preferences are stored in the app's private preferences file.
- Photo faces are stored as downscaled image files in the app's private internal storage.
Data in the app's private storage is protected by Android's application sandbox and is not
readable by other apps on your device.
### 4.2 No cloud storage, no accounts
SpinRoll has no sign-in, no user account, and no cloud backup. The sets, history, photos and
statistics you create are never uploaded to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the app, or clear its data from Android Settings, that
information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
### 4.3 Network use
The app's `INTERNET` and `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` permissions are used only by Google's advertising,
billing, update, analytics and crash-reporting services. Communication with those services is encrypted in transit by Google.
## 5. Data Sharing
### 5.1 We do not sell your data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your information. The only data we can see is the aggregated
analytics and crash reports described in Section 2.2, which identify no one.
### 5.2 Third-party services
SpinRoll includes the following Google services, which handle data under their own privacy
policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data accessed | Privacy policy |
|---------|---------|---------------|----------------|
| Google AdMob | Displaying adverts on the free tier | Advertising ID, device and app information, ad interactions, approximate (IP-derived) location | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Google Play Billing | Processing the one-time Pro purchase | Purchase and entitlement status | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Google Play In-App Update | Checking for a newer app version | App and device version information | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage statistics | App-instance ID, app interactions, device and app information, approximate location | [Firebase Privacy](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reporting | Crash stack traces, installation ID, device and app information | [Firebase Privacy](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) |
SpinRoll does **not** include social media SDKs or any advertising network other than Google
AdMob.
### 5.3 Adverts
- Free users see banner adverts served by Google AdMob.
- AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and app usage data to select and measure
adverts, including personalised adverts where permitted.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in
**Android Settings → Privacy → Ads** (the exact path varies by device).
- Purchasing SpinRoll Pro removes all adverts permanently.
## 6. Photos
- Photos are only accessed when you deliberately choose one using Android's system photo picker.
- The app requests **no storage permission**. The system picker hands SpinRoll only the single
image you selected.
- The selected image is downscaled and copied into the app's private internal storage, so that
your die face keeps working even if you later move or delete the original photo.
- Photos are never uploaded, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising.
- Deleting the set or the face removes the copied image; uninstalling the app removes all of them.
## 7. Children's Privacy
SpinRoll is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13. The app has no accounts, no chat, no
user-to-user features, and no means of entering personal details. If you believe a child has
provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will assist.
## 8. Your Rights and Choices
### 8.1 Your data is in your hands
- Every item the app stores is visible and editable inside the app.
- You can delete any set, any roll from History, or reset your fairness statistics at any time
from within the app.
- Uninstalling SpinRoll, or using **Android Settings → Apps → SpinRoll → Storage → Clear data**,
permanently deletes everything the app has stored.
Because we hold no copy of the content you create, there is nothing of it for us to delete on
your behalf and no account for you to close.
### 8.2 Advertising, purchase, analytics and crash data
Data collected by Google AdMob and Google Play is controlled by Google. Analytics and crash data
is processed by Google as our service provider and is automatically deleted under Firebase's
retention periods (Section 10). To exercise rights over
that data — including access, correction or deletion — use your Google Account controls at
[myaccount.google.com](https://myaccount.google.com) or contact Google directly.
### 8.3 Removing ads
Purchasing SpinRoll Pro, a single one-time payment, permanently removes all adverts. It is not a
subscription and does not recur.
## 9. Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
If you are located in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct,
delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data
portability.
For data held on your device, you can exercise all of these rights directly, as described in
Section 8.1 — no request to us is required.
For data processed by Google in connection with advertising and billing, Google acts as an
independent controller. Please refer to the
[Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and your Google Account controls.
You can limit or withdraw the use of your advertising identifier for personalised advertising at
any time through your device's ad settings, or remove advertising entirely by purchasing
SpinRoll Pro.
## 10. Data Retention
- Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. We set no
expiry and hold no copy.
- Advertising and purchase data is retained by Google in line with
[Google's retention policies](https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention).
- Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months; Firebase Crashlytics crash reports are
retained for 90 days.
## 11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an
updated Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SpinRoll after a change
constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
