What is CaRA?

About CaRA

The Ravenwood Ambassadors for Cancer Research (CaRA) is a nonprofit, school-based organization that is solely led by students. I joined this organization in the fall of 2021, and since then I have helped organize and run fundraisers, participated in events hosted by the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (VICC), worked to recruit more members to the organization, and became a vice president of the organization.

Goals

Spread awareness about all types of cancer
Encourage students to work together to make a difference in the funding of cancer research
Partner with companies such as MOOYAH and Panera to host in-restaurant events
Host in-school fundraisers in collaboration with the VICC and American Breast Cancer Foundation
Raise money to help fund cancer research
