Assistant Professor of Psychology

Dr. Gentes graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Skidmore College. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied under Dr. Ayelet Meron Ruscio. She completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Durham, North Carolina Veterans Affairs Medical Center before moving to Rhode Island to live closer to family and friends. She worked for three years as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University and Clinical Lead Psychologist at Butler Hospital's CBT Partial Hospital Program. Right before joining Providence College in 2022, she was an Instructor of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island, where she taught courses on CBT, statistics and research methods, and psychopathology, and supervised the CBT clinical practicum.
