The Supervision Group
A Spirit filled space to reflect on and explore the living experience of accompaniment.
Group Supervision in an Ignatian context is much more than overseeing the work of another. It is a contemplative experience, an opportunity to expand the Godward gaze of supervisors and supervisees and to deepen the experience of accompaniment.
The purpose of Ignatian Group Supervision is the creation of a safe space where those of us offering accompaniment can reflect on and process our own experience of accompaniment, especially our feelings and emotions.
As group members, we affirm and honour our experience of accompaniment through sharing and learning from each other. We commit to helping each other to continually grow in awareness of our own vulnerabilities and limitations
We intend to develop our sensitivities, our skills and abilities as Accompaniers. To notice how God is moving in each one of us. To benefit from sharing in the Spirit of God that is present in each other.
Our aims include
The creation of a safe, Spirit filled space in which to share and reflect on our experience.
To promote and deepen compassionate listening in ourselves and each other
To continuously develop and deepen our skills in spiritual conversation and discernment
To offer support, suggestions and practical tools to the accompanier when needed.
The Supervision group meets on the last Saturday of the month and is for those who regularly accompany others in the Ignatian tradition.
