Helen Beetham
Researcher in Digital Education
Helen is a researcher at the University of Wolverhampton and an independent consultant working globally on digital education policy and practice. She specialises in critical approaches to digital technologies, open and public education initiatives, and digital pedagogies in the curriculum. Her substack and podcast series on Generative AI have become key reference points for critical thinking on the topic. She is widely published and her co-edited book Rethinking Pedagogy for a Digital Age is now in its third edition with Routledge.

Catherine Cronin

Dr Catherine Cronin is an independent scholar focusing on critical and social justice approaches in digital, open, and higher education. She has worked in the higher education sector for many years, most recently as digital/open education lead in Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning in Higher Education and as a GO-GN Fellow. Catherine has published widely and openly on digital and higher education, policy and practice, including co-editing Higher Education for Good: Teaching and Learning Futures (2023).

Louise Drumm

Dr Louise Drumm is an Associate Professor in the Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement at Edinburgh Napier University. She leads the MSc in Blended and Online Education and also teaches on the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Supporting Learning programme. She has worked in a number of universities in the UK as a learning technologist, academic developer, lecturer and software developer. She is also an experienced theatre director and practitioner, and engages in creative approaches to academic development and teaching. Her research interests include the relationship between digital education and theory, artificial intelligence and education, critical digital and feminist pedagogy, open education practices, digital literacies and academic development.

Rosemarie McIlwhan is an Associate Professor of Digital Pedagogies and Practices, at Heriot-Watt University. She leads on digital pedagogy across the global university, including leading on AI in learning and teaching. Rosemarie has an inter-disciplinary background encompassing law, education and development management. She has been teaching and researching in higher education for over 20 years, with a particular focus on equity, open and digital education and widening participation. Rosemarie is a member of the Research in Learning Technology Journal Editorial Board, co-host of the FutureTeacher webinar series, Senior Certified Member of ALT (SCMALT) and a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE (SFHEA).
