Number 4 on Bloomington's list of sculptures to see around the city. “My Heart Is Open” by Gene Piersa, a memorial in honor of Dr. Russell Smiley, a beloved faculty member and respected teacher from 1987 to 2013. Sculptures are on display along the walking trail west of the Japanese garden at Normandale Community College.
