Biography

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, working with Dr. Rui Duan. I hold a Ph.D. in Biostatistics and Data Science from National Taiwan University, where I was advised by Dr. Chuhsing Kate Hsiao and completed my Ph.D. training in 2022. Prior to joining Dr. Duan’s lab, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Tamar Sofer at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, from 2022 to January 2025.

My research lies at the intersection of Bayesian statistics and statistical genetics, with a growing emphasis on latent structure transfer learning. During my Ph.D., I focused on developing and applying statistical methods—particularly Bayesian approaches—for the analysis of cancer genomics data. Specifically, I proposed Bayesian graphical model–based approaches to estimate genetic network structures in gene set and pathway analyses. As a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Tamar Sofer’s lab, I expanded my expertise to statistical genetics, working on polygenic risk scores and Mendelian randomization in diverse, multi-ethnic populations. More recently, my work has evolved to integrate Bayesian modeling with transfer and federated learning, with a particular focus on latent structure learning—for example, developing topic modeling and non-negative matrix factorization approaches for analyzing electronic health record data.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and coffee shops. I am particularly fascinated by French cuisine and pour-over coffee!
