These checklists have provided minimum requirements for the integration of gender equality in the implementation of gender equality measures in education. Each partner has engaged in the assessment, design, implementation, and monitoring of technical support, operations, and programming for gender equality standards. The checklists were intended to provide each partner institution with guidance on the minimum requirements to effectively integrate gender equality in adult, higher, and secondary school education. These checklists would not be a stand-alone guide but would be used in conjunction with the gender-equal process of standardization. The checklists would be meant to assist participants and principals in implementing the strategic objectives on gender and development. This activity would guide participants through all stages of the project in identifying the main gender issues in the education sector and in designing appropriate gender-sensitive strategies, components, and indicators to respond to gender issues. The purpose of these checklists would allow each participant to reflect upon and assess the extent to which gender is mainstreamed in curricula, and to guide them where further actions are needed.
