Depth and Complexity Framework
Every learner benefits from having their thinking processes and abilities challenged. The Depth and Complexity Framework (DCF) is a model comprising five major components, each one designed to provide easy and workable differentiation for all learners: Depth and Complexity Icons/Prompts, Content Imperative icons/Prompts, Universal Concepts and Generalisations, Disciplinarian Thinking and Scholarly Habits, and Higher Level Thinking Skills. These components are supported with a series of tools and resources that can be applied to any area of learning, any level of learning, and are incredibly easy to implement. The DCF works and has the ability to raise achievement for all learners.
GEMS Aotearoa is collaborating with J Taylor Education (USA) as their Australasian agent to ensure quality PLD true to the Framework and tailored for application within the New Zealand Curriculum and school context.
