Sue has been a fully qualified teacher in New Zealand for over 40 years, both in the State school System and for 16 years as a teacher with the New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education (NZCGE). No matter whether she is teaching children or working with fellow teachers, her absolute passion has always been for gifted education. At NZCGE she was the Regional Lead Teacher for the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, not only looking after administration and management of the Rotorua unit and teaching their three classes, but also mentoring other teachers in our region. She has worked for NZCGE Consult, delivering PLD and mentoring services to their staff as well as to other teachers throughout NZ. I also had the opportunity to deliver presentations and workshops at regional gifted symposia and at national gifted conferences. Sue was also part of the NZCGE Curriculum Focus Group, and it was her great honour to be involved with the development and regular review of the NZCGE curriculum for close to 10 years. She is known for being the maths and science guru for gifted kids and their teachers, and for understanding the perspectives of gifted kids, their parents, State school teachers of the gifted, and specialist teachers of the gifted. Currently, Sue is tutoring home school students online, and working with GEMS Aotearoa.
