Melissa is an experienced teacher, currently working in a large South Auckland secondary school as both an Art Teacher and a Kāhui Ako Across School Leader. She prides herself on being able to foster innovation, creativity and confidence while demonstrating respect for the culture, knowledge and expertise of all ākonga in a way that strengthens an inclusive learning environment.  her practice is informed by current and relevant research and practical application in the classroom.  As an Across School Leader, she has demonstrated my ability to build and maintain relationships of challenge, trust and respect and work collaboratively to develop staff capabilities in order to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
