HOW WE STARTED

Gemenze Nursery & Primary School was founded in May 2021, in the wake of the global lifting of COVID-19 lockdown measures to provide easy access and affordable quality early childhood and primary education amid the ongoing political, security and economic instability in Yambio, South Sudan. Located in what is widely regarded as the most peaceful and rapidly developing neighbourhood, Duduma, the school was born out of a commitment by a local educator, Angelo Emilio Kuri, to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality education to children in Yambio and its surroundings.

Gemenze Nursery & Primary School is registered under the Ministry of General Education and Instructions (MoGEI) and has been recognized for its excellence in providing quality learning in Western Equatoria State. Recognizing the importance of early childhood development, the school initially began as a small nursery only with few learners, focused on foundational learning. Over time, it gradually expanded to become a full primary school. This growth enabled the school to admit its first cohort of P8 candidates, who subsequently sat for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) 203/24, achieving successful results across the board.

Over the years, Gemenze has grown steadily, benefiting from the peaceful environment of Duduma, which offers learners a conducive atmosphere for learning and personal growth. The school's curriculum emphasizes academic excellence, moral integrity, and civic responsibility, aligning with the community's aspirations for a brighter future.

The school has continually upgraded its facilities and staff, incorporating modern teaching methods and educational resources to ensure pupils receive a well-rounded education. Its strategic location in Duduma has also contributed to its accessibility and appeal, attracting families from diverse backgrounds committed to their children's education.

Today, Gemenze Nursery & Primary School remains a cornerstone of the Duduma community, dedicated to shaping responsible citizens and fostering sustainable development in Yambio. Its rich history, coupled with a forward-looking approach, positions it as a leading educational institution in the region.

OUR EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

We believe that every child is a unique individual with inherent potential and the capacity to achieve greatness. At the core of our educational approach is a commitment to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and morally. We understand that each learner's strengths, interests, and learning styles are different, and we strive to create an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and fosters personal growth.
