“Exploring AI tools for education (ICT)”
With excitement and anticipation, we departed from “Macedonia” airport heading to Seville, taking part in an educational journey as part of a European Erasmus+ program focused on Artificial Intelligence.
Arriving early in the morning, we made the most of our time by exploring the southwestern coast of Spain. Our first stop was the seaside city of Málaga, followed by Cádiz, two beautiful cities rich in history and culture. The route also offered us a breathtaking view of the famous Rock of Gibraltar.
The second day brought us to Granada, a city with a strong Moorish past and stunning architecture. We visited the famous Alhambra Palace and wandered through its enchanting gardens, feeling as though we were walking through pages of history.
In the morning, we strolled through the historic center of Seville, admiring the narrow alleys, baroque and renaissance-style squares, the imposing Cathedral, and the iconic Torre del Oro by the Guadalquivir River.
In the afternoon, our classes began. Our instructor, Jose-Maria, introduced us to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, its historical development, and the importance of proper prompt usage for the effective application of AI tools.
The day ended with a visit to the impressive “Metropol Parasol” – the famous "mushroom" of Seville – a futuristic structure offering panoramic views of the city.
In the morning, we enjoyed a guided tour of Seville’s most important landmarks. From Plaza de España and the University (formerly a tobacco factory), to the Cathedral, Town Hall, and former palaces now functioning as hotels, we had the opportunity to explore Seville’s rich cultural heritage.
In the afternoon, our trainer Noa introduced us to practical AI applications, focusing on the Symbaloo platform – a tool for organizing digital AI resources.
Today, we continued our exploration with visits to Plaza de España, Plaza de América, and finally Triana, a neighborhood known for its folk traditions and gastronomy.
In the afternoon, we returned to class and practiced using new AI tools under the guidance of Jose-Maria. We created tasks using prompts and discovered the vast possibilities of AI in education.
We started the day with a typical Spanish breakfast, churros with chocolate. The morning included visits to museums and cultural centers.
During the afternoon class, we completed our exploration of AI tools. Our group created a presentation on the history of Thessaloniki using ChatGPT and the Gamma platform.
In the morning, we traveled to Córdoba – a gem of a city with the unique Mezquita, a cathedral blending Islamic and Christian architecture in perfect harmony. We walked through the famous patios – flower-filled inner courtyards – and Calleja de las Flores, the city’s most photographed street.
In the afternoon, we returned to Seville, presented our final projects.
Afterwards, we received our participation certificates in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and friendship. After a week of creative learning, all participants had become a close-knit and supportive group.
The week came to an end. We said goodbye to Seville filled with new knowledge, ideas, and educational tools. This training was a valuable experience for our personal and professional development and laid the foundation for future European collaborations.
