A teacher from Geniko Likio Hortiati, Mr. Chrysanthos Agathokleous, had the opportunity to participate in a Job Shadowing program in Poland from the 30th of September to the 4th of October, coinciding with the student and teacher mobility at the Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Nowa Sól, Poland.
● On the first day, he was taken to tour the school’s premises and observed how tidy and clean the classrooms were. The school was fully equipped with ICT resources, a chemistry lab, a gym, and a library. He also engaged in discussions with the headmaster, Alexandra, and other teachers in the staff room about various educational issues. Shortly after, he attended a fascinating lecture by Mr. Krzysztof Wede on renewable energy and the use of wind turbines for electricity generation.
On the second day, after a welcoming ceremony, he attended an ICT lesson. He noted that the students' behavior and learning during the lesson were satisfactory. The textbooks and materials used in the course were similar to those in Greek schools. The classroom equipment was of high quality, featuring interactive whiteboards and projectors, while the flooring in the laboratory was made of wood for staτic insulation of the computers.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Mr. Agathokleous participated in the group’s scheduled program. On Friday, he attended another ICT lesson and realized that the available space allowed the two computer lab rooms to be combined into a single room, accommodating more students in the class. The teachers demonstrated effective teaching methods and exhibited positive behavior towards the students, who reciprocated the respect.
Overall, it was a unique experience for Mr. Chrysanthos Agathokleous, providing him with fresh ideas and best practices to enrich his own lessons.
