Registration is limited, so sign up quickly!
Participants will be judged on creativity of their costume, skill in creating it, and stage presence/embodying the character. Each participant will have about 20 seconds (no longer than 40 seconds) on stage to pose and show off their cosplay while the Emcee announces their name, character, and other details participants write on the registration form. Costume Guidelines
COSTUME GUIDELINES
Protective footwear is required for all guests.
All military, law enforcement, and other emergency service costumes should be easily distinguishable from official uniforms.
Hate symbols, even historical hate symbols like swastikas, will not be tolerated at the event.
Roller blades, roller skates, and skateboards will not be allowed.
All prop weapons must be checked at the door and tagged by event staff. Tag must remain on the prop for the duration of the event.
Prop weapons MUST be rendered completely inoperable, clearly distinguishable at a cursory glance from a real weapon, and totally, utterly incapable of harming the cosplayer or another person. Projectile weapons of any sort are strictly forbidden. Firearm props must have a clearly visible orange cap on the barrel. Metal and ceramic weapons are not allowed (including bladed weapons, swords, knives, or sharpened edges of any kind). Prop weapons must be made of lightweight materials such as foam, cardboard, or plastic. Sharpened edges of any kind are not allowed, including on armor, shields, or other tools. Bats and heavy blunt instruments (cricket, baseball, golf clubs, paddles, furniture legs, etc) are not allowed.
Props may not be brandished in a threatening manner.
Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in guests being asked to leave the event.

2019 Wizarding Yule Ball
Start the holiday season with a little magic! Come dressed in your finest witch or wizard garb--as if you were attending the Yule Ball at a certain school of witchcraft and wizardry--and learn how to waltz, then dance the night away! There will be activities for the kids and costume contests at the end.
Donations benefit both the Mesa County Public Library District's teen advisory board (GOAT, Gathering of Awesome Teens), and Geek Parties of the Grand Valley.
