Philosophy - the word literally means 'love of wisdom', and it is the study of life, the universe, and everything. Before you can discover the answer to the meaning of life, you must first learn to ask the correct question!
Philosophy is an increasingly popular A Level subject, as it tackles the deepest questions of truth and existence, and helps you learn to think critically about every aspect of being.
If you're at all interested in the subject (and why wouldn't you be?), then over the next few pages you'll find some introductory resources to help you get a taste of what the subject entails. Unless of course everything only exists in your mind (solipsism), in which case none of this is real anyway...
"The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it."
Bertrand Russell
A Level Philosophy looks at four units across the two years:

Ethics: A study of right and wrong.

Metaphysics of God: A study of the nature of God and religious experience.
Metaphysics of mind: An investigation into the mind, mental events, and their properties.
On the following pages you'll find resources introducing some of the ideas covered in epistemology and ethics...
