Sample Preparation for GC-MS
Before Submitting your samples, read the following carefully
Your Samples should be soluble in non-aqueous organic solvents
Prefer dichloromethane or chloroform as a solubilising solvent.
In unavoidable circumstances, methanol or ethanol may be used as solvents.
Water soluble or aqueous mixture of solvents could not be accepted for analysis.
The sample should be free from water and moisture. If water is present, remove the solvent using sodium sulphate
Also, insoluble, partially soluble samples with solid particles and dispersed samples could not be accepted for analysis.
Before submitting your samples, filter through 2 micron filters.
Make sure your samples should free from solid particles, dust or lint
Avoid DMF, DMSO and water as solvents to solubilize your compounds. Dichloromethane is a more desirable solvent for analysis.
Strong acid and alkaline samples would not be accepted.
If your sample is solid, provide the melting point
If your sample is liquid, provide the boiling point
