Students should speak with their school counselor to ensure a course aligns with their four-year plan/graduation requirements.
FCPS online campus offers limited courses over the summer for new credit. If a student is interested, he/she/they should reach out to their school counselor to plan appropriately. Additional considerations:
Summer courses for new credit are time-consuming and recommended only for students who have blocked the time to take the course.
Each course has an associated fee. Fees can be reduced for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
The courses run from mid-June to mid-July. The online campus recommends that students plan 4-6 hours a day of work, Monday through Friday.
Students must log in to their class every day. Failure to consistently log in will result in the student being dropped from the course, and fees may not be refunded.
The courses are taught and paced by an instructor. This is not a self-directed course done at the student’s pace.
