Equipment Required for Players
Every week, each player needs to bring/wear:
Size 3 soccer ball
Shin guards
Water bottle
Team t-shirt (provided the first week)
Your child should wear clothing that allows them to move freely. Cleats are optional but not required.
Volunteers Needed
Adult volunteers serve as GCKS head coaches, assistant coaches, field set up volunteers, and administrators in order to run this program. No experience is required; we provide all instructions and coaching tips. All you need to do is show up each week and have fun with your child(ren) and your team. You can sign up as a volunteer when you register your child for soccer. It’s truly a fun and rewarding experience. GCKS vs. Kindergarten Soccer
There are two kindergarten soccer programs in Newton. Please make sure you intend to register for Garden City Kindergarten Soccer before you sign up.
Players in grades 1 and up may register for Newton Youth Soccer or Newton Girls Soccer.
Field Status/Cancellation
On game mornings, you can check out field openings at https://newtonma.myrec.com/info/facilities/default.aspx or follow the
Newton Youth Soccer Twitter feed, @newtonfields. We tend to follow Newton Youth Soccer's lead on field status and cancellations. Light rain is not typically cause for cancellation.
