Dear Sisters,
We are excited to invite the women of our stakes to share their creative gifts as we gather at the Pump Road building for the combined Richmond / Mechanicsville stakes broadcast location of the USNE Women’s conference on May 30th, 2026.
Whether your 'canvas' is wood, fabric, digital media, clay, or traditional paint, we want to see how you express and are inspired by the conference theme: “Covenant Women Following Jesus and Spreading Their Influence for Good." All creative expressions—from fine arts and photography to handcrafted textiles and woodwork—are welcome. Whether you are a seasoned artist or trying something new, your contribution is a valued part of our gathering.
You will find attached an FAQ document with details on creating an art piece to include in our conference.
If you would like to contribute a work of art, please review the FAQ sheet and then fill out the intent to participate form by May 1, 2026, so we can ensure we have the perfect spot reserved for your piece: Art Display Intent to Participate Google Form.
You can find general information about the conference and broadcast here: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/my-home/areas/usa-northeast/onward?lang=eng.
We look forward to gathering with you at our local broadcast location for this special event!
With love,

Women’s USNE Area Conference Artwork Exhibit FAQ’s
Richmond & Mechanicsville Stakes Broadcast Location
Artwork theme: “Covenant women following Jesus and spreading their influence for good.”
How should the theme be interpreted?
The theme may be interpreted literally, symbolically, or abstractly. Artwork does not need to
depict women directly but should reflect the spirit of covenant discipleship and influence for
good.
How many pieces may I submit?
Each artist may submit one artwork for display.
What mediums are allowed?
All visual art mediums are welcome, from painting and photography to woodwork, textiles and sculpture - however you create art.
What are the size and display requirements?
2D artwork must be able to rest securely on a standard easel. Framing is optional. Artwork should be rigid or mounted (canvas, board, panel, etc.). Both vertical and horizontal works are acceptable. Easels will be provided. Tables will be provided for display of 3D pieces. 3D pieces must be able to rest securely on a table top without risk of tipping.
Will my artwork be labeled?
Each piece will be displayed with the artist’s name, title, medium, size, and a short description
provided in the submission form. Descriptions may include personal reflection or scripture
references if desired.
When do I drop off and pick up my artwork?
Specific setup and pickup instructions will be emailed to participating artists prior to the
conference. Artists are responsible for both drop-off and removal of their artwork the day of the event. We will not have anywhere to store artwork before or after the conference.
Is the artwork insured?
While reasonable care will be taken, the conference cannot assume responsibility for loss or
damage. Artists participate at their own discretion.
Are artworks for sale?
This exhibit is display only. Artwork will not be sold onsite.
Will photos be taken?
Photographs of the exhibit may be taken for conference documentation digitally or via social media. Artists retain full copyright of their work.
Intent to participate submission deadline: May 1, 2026
Dear Gayton Ward,
Our ward will be responsible for cleaning our church building for eight months during 2026 as we are on a four-month rotation with the Innsbrook Ward. We will clean January through April and September through December. The first schedule is noted below. The second session schedule will be provided later in 2026.
We are working to minimize the number of households who will be asked to clean twice, although some will be needed. To help with this, we have scheduled just four households to clean each week. Given this, it is very important that you help on your assigned date. If you have a conflict with the schedule, please exchange dates with another household.
We will continue with our practice of cleaning on Friday evenings beginning at 6:00 p.m., although some work could be done on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings if needed. Evan Anderson, Jerry Powers, and Eric Thorpe will be at the building as noted on the schedule to supervise the cleaning.
The Pump Road building is where we meet together to worship our Savior each week. We can all do our part to help keep the building clean and presentable.
Thanks,
Brother Duncan

The Bishopric would like everyone to review and update their photo and other information in the ward directory. This can be done through the website or the member tools app. If you would like an updated photo, Brother John Davidson will be bringing his camera equipment and taking individual and family group photographs in the Young Women's room on Sunday Mar 10 between 11:10 am and 12:20 pm. You will be provided a copy of the photos for individual use and we encourage you to upload these to the ward directory if you do not currently have a photo. [Ward technology specialists can help you upload your photo if you need assistance.] This is a great time to ensure that phone numbers and email addresses are also up to date. Brother Davidson will be collecting any information that needs to be changed and providing that to the ward clerk. Just stop by the Young Women’s room and let him know what change(s) need to be made.
Brothers and Sisters,
We would like to utilize a text message (SMS) alert tool in order to more effectively inform our ward family about general announcements and emergency alerts.
We encourage all members (age 13 and up) to opt-in to the service so you can receive text messages when we send out an announcement. To opt-in, please text "@wardalerts" to 81010.
The service is called Remind. Remind was created for school districts but is free and open for non-profit use. After you send your initial text to opt-in, it will ask for your name and whether you're a student, parent, or teacher. Please select student. It will suggest that you download the app but this is not necessary. We will continue to send announcements via email as well.
Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
Best,
Gayton Ward Bishopric
