More at risk: How older people are excluded in humanitarian data
When disaster strikes, older people are more at risk than other age groups. Despite the fact that several international humanitarian organisations, including the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and HelpAge International, have emphasised the importance of collecting age-inclusive data, the research found that only one in five organisations collected age- and sex- disaggregated data in all their disaster preparedness initiatives.

From the implementation of the Disaster Preparedness and Response/Climate Change Adaptation (DPR/CCA) Project that spanned seven years, from 2011 to 2017, out came the experiences of more than 100 partners who ardently pursued disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) work. This is a book that shares the adversities of changing old mindsets. It is a collection of insights on new and effective ways of building systems on disaster preparedness, prevention, mitigation, and building resilient communities.
The resource book was accompanied by an animated educational video and a documentary.

Creating the space to empower women fishers: lessons from the Philippines
Oxfam GB’s Leadership Development Programme for Women works with four partners in the Philippines. The work involves assessing how far gender is mainstreamed into programme work, and developing action plans to ensure that women working in the fi shing industry play a more active role in community-based coastal resource management and in designing fi sheries policy reforms. In the course of this work, participants identified the steps necessary to establish a favourable environment for encouraging and supporting more women to become leaders in the fi shing sector.
