WHAT DOES GAUGE MEASURE
GAUGE measures calibration: how well your confidence matches reality. Most people who say they are "90 percent sure" are right only about half the time. GAUGE scores how well-calibrated your judgment is and helps you train it. There is no timer, because GAUGE measures judgment, not speed.
HOW DO I ANSWER QUESTIONS
There are four ways to answer. RANGE lets you give a 90 percent confidence interval. CLAIM is a true or false judgment with a confidence level. OVER or UNDER asks whether the truth is above or below a shown value. FERMI is an order-of-magnitude estimate on a log scale. You can mix them or focus on one domain, in sets of five, ten, or twenty.
HOW DOES SCORING WORK
GAUGE gives you a transparent 0 to 100 score built on proper scoring, along with coverage, sharpness, and a grade. On RANGE questions, catching the truth inside your band matters, and narrower bands that still catch the truth score higher. On confidence questions, being right when you are confident matters more. A "how it's scored" screen inside the app shows exactly how the number is calculated. The Lab then plots your calibration curve so you can see your stated confidence against your real accuracy.
IS MY DATA PRIVATE
Yes. GAUGE runs on your device with no account and no login. It does not track you and does not show ads. For the optional AI touches, GAUGE sends only anonymized aggregate statistics to a third-party AI provider, never your identity, your device identifiers, or your raw per-answer logs. HOW DO I EXPORT OR DELETE MY DATA
You can export your record as a CSV file from within the app at any time. You can also delete everything from within the app at any time. Both options are in the app's settings.
WHAT ABOUT PURCHASES
If you ever change devices or reinstall, any purchases can be restored from within the app's settings.
