Spiritual Argument:
· God called everything he made “very good” (Genesis 1:31)
· Children are gifts from God, not products to manufacture
· Rebellion against God’s choices/work leads to death, destruction, etc.
· Some believe it wrong to “play God”.
· Naturalism
o Argument against religious involvement with editing genetics
· Evolution
o Gene editing is seen as “unnatural”, disturbs the process of natural selection
o Gene editing dehumanizes, as those who go through gene therapy may be seen as non-human.
Post-Humanism arguments: overall are against the technology as it questions the human as an entity, which the core of humanism and post-humanism.
